Hints Before baking an angel food cake, wash the cake pan thoroughly in hot soap or deter-J gent suds to removfe all trace of grease or oil. Put the batter in this suds-clean, greasefree pan and the cake will be lighter and fluffier. Sounds like magic? Well, this heaven^ ly cake must adhere to the pan while cooking, or the cake will shrink-and a non-greased pan does the trick. When making cafe curtains, avoid sewing brass rings on for hanging. This will only make more work --because either the curtains will have to be laundered by hand, or the rings removed before wash-j ing by machine. Instead, use handy spring-clip rings which go off and one readily at curtain-washing time. Once plastic spray bottles fare emptied, wash them clean. •Then squeeze tightly and sink I them into a bowlful of soapsuds until filled. Tuck one such bottle in the car’s glove compartment, and place another in the garage or basement. They are unbreakable, won’t leak, and are useful to wash children’s hands after play or while traveling. When snow or ice dissolved by rock salt splashes onto a car, it will corrode the finish unless removed promptly. Be sure to wash the car frequently in winter, using hot
