On Sunday, September 19, at 3:30 p.m; on the Five Forks Road, Route 621, a ’63-’64 Ford Convertible, owned and operated by Mack Arthur Morgan of Centreville and a ’61 Ford Sedan owned and operated by James Edward Green of Culpeper collided on the crest of a hill. Damage to both vehicles was approximate, ly $1100, according to Trooper W. A. Buntin. Green’s mother, Mrs. R, E. Green, a passenger sustained an injured mouth, sprained thumb and contusions of the knee. Morgan was changed with failure to drive to right of road, said the T rooper. Also on Sunday at 7:10 p.m. on Route 522 in Flint Hill, a ’65 Chevrolet Corvain owned and driven by Robert Spalne of Cedar Springs, Michigan, struck and killed a Black Angus cow owned by Robert Welch of Flint Hill. There' were no injuries and about $200 damage to the car. The cow was valued at $200. Trooper Bentin investigated the acci dent. M. C. Gore of Washington was hospitalized for several days with injuries sustained in a single vehicle accident which occurred on Route 637, September 18. f According to Trooper J. B. Willis, Mr. Gore was a passenger in a 1963Chevrolet owned by his wife and operated by Sherman Franklin Atkins of Sperryville, when the driver struck a rock and the impact threw Mr. Gore into the windshield. He sustained lacerations of the forehead. Atkins left the scene of the accident and Gore did not receive medical treatment until 7 a.m. the next morning. The accident happened about 8 p.m. Saturday.
Atkins was charged with driv ing on a revoked license, reck less driving and leaving the scene of an accident, said Mr. Willis.
