The Hospital holds quarterly orthopedic and plastic clinics in January, April, July and October. These clinics are held in cooperation with the State Orthopedic Clinics which are under the Direction of the Crippled Children’s Bureau, Virginia State Department of Health. Previously treated and newly referred patients are examined. An average of one hundred patients are seen at each of these clinics. The school year has begun and the patients at Crippled Children’s Hospital are busy studying. For many of these children this is their first experience in learning. The City of Richmond provides three teachers trained to instruct handicapped children, and volunteers and supervisors from the City Board of Education augment this program.
