COCONUT CHEWS 24 cookie* 3 tablespoons shortening 2 cup grated coconut 1/2 cups sifted Triplett's v u Y enriched self-rising flour ^ cjp c"°PPed pecans Grease 7 x 11-inch baking pan. Preheat oven to 350°. Cut shortening into flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir In brown sugar, coconut and pecans. Blend together eggs and vanilla; add to flour mixture, stirring until well mixed. (Batter Is very stiff ) Turn into pan, spreading evenly. Bake 25 to 30 minutes. Cool on wire rack 10 minutes; cut into 24 bars. 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar 2 eggs 1 ’.eacpoon vanilla extract
