Roaring lions, waltzing horses, trumpeting elephants camels, llamas, trained dogs, and ponies and chimpanzees on the flying trapeze will be among the features of the 18th annual edition of the Von Bros. Three Ring Circus which is coming to Washington on Saturday, September 25 at the carnival grounds. There will be two performances, one at 3 p.m. and a second at 8 p.m. The days activities will begin however, at 1:30 p.m. with a circus parade through town which begins at Washington Elementary School and ends at Washington carnival grounds. Honorary Fire Chief Miss Nancy Lillard, will lead the parade. The circus is sponsored by the Washington Volunteer Fire Company and Rappahannock Rescue Squad. A spokesman for these volun teer organizations said, ‘We decided to sponsor the circus because we feel there are many children ,and younghearted adults, who will wel come the opportunity to see America’s second largest and greatest tented circus.” “Also, we want to stress the fact that the fire company and rescue squad will receive a higher percentage of all tickets sold by the local organizations prior to circus day.
