Meet at Madison
The Fall Zone Meeting of the Northern Virginia Fireman’s Association and Ladies’ Auxiliary will be held on Satur day, October 2, in Madison. The Madison Fire Company and Ladies’Auxiliary will host the event. Registration will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the fire hall, after which meetings of the following committees will be held: fireman's relief, ways and means, executive and bylaws. A banquet will be served in the fire hall at 6:30 p.m. and prior to the 9 p.m. dance, a business meeting for both firemen and ladies will take place. The Northern Virginia Fire man’s Association, organized on September 12, 1947 by its first president, J. F.verett Will of Luray, has grown from 13 original companies to 47 which now are included in the association. Current president of the firemen’s division is Russell Barr, of Hose Company No. 4, Harrisonburg. The Ladies’ Auxiliary to the Northern Virginia association was organized at New Market on December 1, 1950 by Harry Dyke, who was association president at that time. At present, there are 22 auxili aries in the group.
