Entries Open For
April Beauty Pageant
The Rappahannock Jaycees have scheduled dates and times for entering candidates in the forthcoming beauty pageant which will be held April 1st at the local high school. The schedule is; Wednesday, March 16 at 10 a. m. at Rappahannock County High School; Wednesday, March 16, 11 a.m. at ' Washington Elementary School; Monday, March 14, 10 a.m. at Sperryville Elementary School. Contestants may enter themselves or be sponsored by a business establishment or individual. Entry fee is $1 for each candidate. If you desire to enter or wish to enter someone go to one of these schools at the
appointed time. Entries may also be made by Contacting Mrs. James Wayland, Sperryville, phone 987-2001 or Mrs. Rodney Vest, Woodvill^, Phone 987-3556. The contestants will be judged in four different groups as follows: ages 5 to 9; ages 10 to 12; ages 13 to 17 and ages 18 to 28. The winners of the 5 to 9 and 18 to 28 group will go to Richmond in May to compete in the state beauty pageant.
The 5 to 9 and 10 to 12 age groups will wear street length dresses; the 13 to 17 age group will wear evening gowns; and the adult group will be judged in evening gowns and in swim suits. Admission to the public will be $1 for adults and 50(5 for children. Reserved seats in the first four rows will be available at $2 each.
