With the passage of the state sales tax, it was estimated that Rappahannock would receive in the vicinity of 62 or 63 thousand dollars as its part returned to the counties. Another attempt was made by extending the opening of dance halls on Saturday night to 2 a.m. instead of 1 a.m. as it now stands after being changed a number of times. Mr. Wood brought up the subject for discussion and Mr. Luttrell made a motion that the time be set back to midnight rather than extend it. This motion was defeated. Supervisor Wood recountered with a motion for the extension of time to 2 p.m. This too was defeated, so the closing time remains at 1 a.m. Resident Engineer D. S. Butler was present to introduce A. C. Bohon, a new Dept, of Highways maintenance supervisor for this area. A road hearing to be held in April was discussed and notice of the hearing will be advertised in the near future. A committee to set up the 1966-67 county budget was appointed and 4s composed of Board Chairman Miller, Robert L. Brown, E. M. Jones, George H. Davis, Jr.; Mrs. Robert Spalding, Herbert Fos> ter, Mrs. Elizabeth Buntin, W. C. Campbell and O. A. Norton.
