Special evening hours for the Winchester Social Security Office were announced today by Mrs. Hazel F. Daly, District Manager. Effective Monday, March 7, the office will be open to the public until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This is in addition to the regular weekly hours of 8:45 a.rri. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. This special service is being offered so that every eligible person may register for Medicare and this schedule will continue throughout the month of March, Mrs. Daly called attention to the deadline date of March 31 for those people now 65 or over. “Unless you register by March 31 you may lose valuable protection* she said. “If you are now 65 or over, or if you will be 65 before July 1, you should contact our office immediately unless you have already signed up for the Medicare program. If you would like to have the necessary forms mailed to you, please call us at 6671511.*
