A couple of spills occurred during the Pair Race, with *C<H. Par doe of Washington, D. C. receiving a dislocated collarbone when he took a tumble. Mrs. Oscar Lindgren was dismounted but quickly regained her mount and finished the race. More than 25 hounds from Madison, Prince William, Cut peper, and Rappahannock'Counties were entered in the Hound Race . James M. Gibbs of Pratts, Madison County with an entry of four hounds won First, Second, Third and Fifth place as follows; 1st, #15, “Boots", 2nd, #17, “Brownie", 3rd, #18, “Little Lulu", and 5th, #16, “Lady Bird". C. C. Clark of Woodville won 4th place with his hound “Jolly". The Rappahannock Hunt donated $30 of the purse money and an entrance fee of $.50 per hound was charged which was added to the purse. $17.20 was awarded to first place, $10.75 second, $6.45 third and $4.30 each to fourth and fifth.
Race Chairman, Oliver Dilrant, II, was pleased with the extreme success of the raceq, and attributed much of this to the excellent committee which worked with him.
