The weather was a bit tern-1 jjgramental Saturday as. ap-| proximately 3000 fans gathered at Thornton Hill Farm, Sperryville for the annual runring of the Rappahannock Hunt Point-to-Point Races, but a few showers did not dampen their spirits. Randolph Rouse’s Twin Peaks surged home the winner in the feature race, The Ben Venue, over a 2 1/2 mile timber course. Twin Peaks crossed the finish line over ten lengths ahead of the next closest contender. Sun Castle took second place with Lenoso coming in third. In fourth place was Dr. John Kneipp’s Chiron, the favorite, who presented no challenge whatever. Chiron had won the featured! race the week before as Cas-! anova and last year at Rappahannock had won over Twin Peaks. The Ladies Race, the Mount Salem, was won by Poppet Robinson on Sky Jinks. Miss Virginia Beach was thrown from her Mythical Prince when the horse hooked a jump. Neither horse nor rider sustained any injury. Miss Beach had been leading the field I when the mishap occurred. | She had been a winner at the Casanova races.
