a payment of $250 was approved for the county’s portion of the expenses of a fire school to be held this fall under the supervision of the Rappahannock County FireXssociation.
Hospital contracts for Medical College of Virginia at $37.46 per hospital day; Culpeper Memorial Hospital at $37.46 per hospital day and $5.00 out patient fee; and Fauquier County Hospital at $32.29 per hospital day and $5.00 out patient care, were approved. The purchase of a sprayer costing about $45 to be used by the Extension Agents office for eliminating noxious weeds was approved. A contribution of $50.00 to Crippled Children’s Hospital, Richmond, was made. John G. Cargill, Jr. was named as County Surveyor for a term of four years with compensation set at $50.
L. H. Luttrell broached the subject of storm doors and courtroom doors for the courthouse and made a motion for their purchase and installation. The motion did not receive a second and died. This matter had been discussed and voted down at a prior meeting since cost estimates had been too high. Mrs. Elizabeth Buntin presented two applications for medical aid for indigent patients. These received approval.
Current bills for the county were approved for payment before the group adjourned.
