Christening

When Nils Carl Ulric Tholand, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jens U. Tholand, was christened on September 2, he wore a gown which was first used by his great-great-grandmother, countess Caroline Louise Ulrica Wrangel in 1850. The Godparents at that occasion were Carl XV and his wife Loyisa. The Godparents for Nils were Mr. and Mrs. W. Arthur Miller of Washington, Va., Miss Kate de Rosset of Culpeper, and James B. Murray, Jr. of Earlysville. The grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. James Cothran and, Mr. and Mrs. N.K.G. Tholand. The latter had a luncheon at their home, Piedmont Farm, after the christening, which was performed by the Rev. Charles F. Glaenzer in Trinity Episcopal Church, Washington, Va.
