onow mg uomeiuuni per iou, the student body assembled in the auditorium. Stewart Hawkins led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. Janet Hackley, S. C. A. President, had a word of welcome for the students and informed them that this is going to bea “great year’ at Rappahannock High. Mr. Dennis Wingfield, our prin cipal, also extended a welcome to students and teachers. He outlined a policy concerning the school’s primary rulesand regulations.
After the assembly the students attended two shortened classes and were then served lunch. The rema ining four classes were attended and school was dismissed at 2:30. Approximately 315 students left for home knowing that it was again time to buckle down to a year of study and learning.
The Student Cooperative A ssociation Council helditsfirst meeting Wednesday, August 30 after school. Members of the Council for the 1967-68 session are: Janet Hackley, Presi dent; Pdwa rd Clark, VicePresident; Betty Jenkins, Secretary; Lois Yates, Treasurer and Barbara Lillard, Reporter. The council met with their co-counselors, Mrs. Myra Wolf and Mr. Richard Neff. Di scussion centered around some of the aims and objectives for the new year. The S. C. A. met again on Thursday, August 31, during the lunch period. In accordance with the election of homeroom representatives which is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept 6, council members posted a list of the representative’s duties in each homeroom and instructed students to care
