Lt. and Mrs. R. V. Snead, Jr. of Ft. Bragg, N. C. spent the Labor Day weekend at Spring House Farm, home of Mrs. Snead's parents Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lee Smith. Mr. and Mrs. JohnG. Cargill of West Orange, N. J. were guests over the weekend of Mr. and Mrs. Cargill, Jr. and family at their home on Mt. Salem Avenue. Miss Becky Jones of Lynchburg and Miss Segar Jones who is employed at Big Meadows spent the weekend with their parents Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Jones atDelamore. Mrs L. J. Turner was a Sunday din ner guest of the Jones’. Miss Segar Jones returned to her home today to remain until leaving for Westhampton College where she is enrolled for the fall term. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Thorne and two sons of Burtonsville, Md. were guests last Wednesday of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Hall at Rose Hill. Their holiday weekend guests were Dr. L. T. Cailahan of Manor Club, Md. and Mrs. Virginia Kuhn of Alexandria. Mr. and Mrs. Hall and Mrs. Kuhn were Sunday [ supper guests at Ponderosa Inn at Delaplane. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gabe Burke and family were Mr. and Mrs. Moses Burke and family of Accokeek, Md. and Mr. and Mrs. Rannie I. Burke and family of Arlington.
Mrs. Paul Burke and Eddie Ricketts returned home Friday after a two weeks’ visit in Greenback, Tenn. with their brother-in-law and sister Mr. and Mrs. Norman Shaw and daughter Sherry. Recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Ricketts and family were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bovey and family of Germantown, Md., Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Earp and son of Hyattsville, Md., George Ricketts
