ind the club dinners in Amissville. The reports of twelve other ligh voltage project chairmen lent i suitable background to that of John Gillespie, chairman of the Safety Committee. Gillespie outlined the months of planning md interviews which had been necessary to wrap up the final ipproval for five red warning signal lights to be installed on Rt. 211 to serve the Fire Dept. The intricate maneuvering to secure the approval of the Potomac Edison Co., the various officials of the Virginia Highway Dept., and the volunteer labor of the Amissville Fire Dept, was a success, completed only through much patience and persistence by Chairman Gillespie. The cost of this gift will be approximately $650 to the Ruritan Club with other portions of the expense assumed by the Potomac Edison and the volunteer labor by the Fire Dept, to a total value of $1500. The financing of this and other objectives will be through such profits as are realized from the Ruritan Ham and Turkey Supper April 4, the Ruritan Barbecue July 4 and a Horse Show during May. While some club objectives are of more modest proportions than others, the. diversity and solid character of this representative of Ruritan National are shown by the work of the Rural Church Committee whose plans call for church attendance in a body at different local churches and contributions to Daily Vacation Bible Schools. The Education Committee which

Further outreach to the youth of the community is provided through baseball activity under thq management of R. B. Settle, and the Boy Scout Troop now searching for a qualified Scout Master.
