Herndon Grey
Funeral services for Herndon Gray, 61, of Amissville were held Sunday at Amissville Bethel Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Baltimore. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Gray died January 22, 1970. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Irene Gray, seven daughters, Alice, Annie, Peggy and Debbie Gray, Mrs. Elsie Jackson, of Amissville, Mrs. Lula Jordan, Flint Hill, and Mrs. Lena James, Washington, D.C.; five sons, Hazel, Jimmie and Rickie Gray of Amissville, Herndon E. Gray of The Plains and Douglas Gray of Charlestown, W.Va.; and twelve grandchildren. Pallbearers were Donald Brown, James Phillips, Wilson Jeffries, Randolph Brown, Thomas Venable and Albert Corbin.

The Boston-Slate Mills Homemakers Group met at the home of Mrs. Russell Deane Thursday evening, January 15. Thirteen ladies turned out to learn knitting. The class was taught by Mrs. John J. Quinn of Griffinsburg. Attending were Mrs. Edith Green of Slate Mills, Mrs. Frank Zinn, Mrs. John J. Quinn and Mrs. Virginia of New Salem, Mrs. Cary Thornhill, Mrs. Gordon Thornhill, daughter Melanie, Mrs. Joseph Johnston, daughter Sandra, Mrs. Marie Ward, Mrs. Howard WaddeH and Miss Faye Leake.

Mrs. Audrey Thornhill recently underwent surgery at the Culpeper Memorial Hospital and is reported to be much improved. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby H.
