To finance all of this the church was forced to borrow a sum of money-before the loan was paid the pastor’s health broke down, there upon Mrs. Anna W. Green the church organist and choir instructor organized in the church and school a club, known as the Gold Star Mothers Club, which played a large part in liquidating this debt. This club still exists and is doing good work. Incidentally Mrs. Green organized a similar club In every school community while she was supervisor.
