At the end of the parade line, behind all the gloss and glitter, is a tired little girl. Lou Ann Wolfe of Sterling Park a majorette with the “Sterlettes” group performing Thursday night at the Amissville Firemen’s carnival parade took off her plumed hat to reveal a terry wash cloth perched on top of her head. With this, she wiped away the perspiration and dust accumulated in the line of march, folded it neatly and replaced it to it$ original position, donned her hat and was ready for drill competition on the carnival grounds. It costs approximately $50 to outfit a majorette, said Lou Ann’e mother, but the pleasure the child has derived from the busy parade season is worth it.
