Sunday afternoon about two o’clock on Route 601 at Peola Mills two vehicles collided. A 1966 Buick convertible operated by James Gordon Yowell of Fredericksburg and a 1963 Mercury operated by Frederick John Maletz of Washington, D. C. met on a curve. Maletz applied his brakes and skidded into the side of the Buick. He was charged with failing to drive to the right of the center of the road.

A talk, accompanied by slides on the subject, “Contrasts in Ecology” will be given by Philip L. Thornton at Rappahannock Library, Friday, August 28 at 8 p.m. Mr. Thornton will speak from first hand experience while on duty with the military in Antarctica and in Vietnam. The program is one of a series which composes the Library and Information Program.
