Tailoring, Draperies
Slipcover Workshops
Plans are under way for the development of Extension Workshops in the areas of Tailoring, Slip Covering and Draperies. All three will be offered at night, beginning in September and October.
Tailoring will include instruction on the construction of a tailored garment, either a coat, or a two-piece suit. A person enrolling in this class must have previous experience in clothing construction. This will be taught by Judy Burtner, Extension Agent.
The classes on slip covering and draperies will be taught by Mrs. Katherine Riley of Amissville in two separate workshops. The workshops on slip coverings will include information on how to measure and how to fit, along with construction details. The workshop on draperies will include information on various drapery fabrics, along with how to measure and construction details.
Any homemaker interested in participating in any one of the three workshops or all three will need to contact Judy Burtner, Extension Agent at 675-3619 to register. The classes will be limited in number so first to call will be admitted. Registration will be closed by Monday, Sept. 7th.
