NOTICE OF

PBBUC HEARING

Notice is hereby given of the intention of the Board of Supervisors of Rappahannock County to adopt the following proposed ordinance at the next regular meeting of said Board on the 5th day of September, 1970, commencing at 10:00 a.m. at the Courthouse in Washington, Virginia:

“ORDINANCE!. - Regulations, etc., of Assemblies or Movement of Persons or Vehicles Under Certain Circumstances—

“BE IT ORDAINED by the Boaird of Supervisors of Rappahannock County, Virginia, that the Sheriff of said County ie hereby authorized and empowered to regulate, restrict or prohibit any assembly of persons or the movement therein of persons or vehicles when there exists an imminent threat of any civil commotion or disturbance in the nature of a riot in Rappahannock County or any part thereof which constitutes a clear and present danger thereof.

"The provisions of this Ordinance shall be liberally construed in order to effectively carry out the purposes hereof in the interest of the public health, welfare and safety of the citizens and residents of Rappahannock County, Virginia.

'This Ordinance is adopted pursuant to Title 15.1, Chapter 12, Article 1 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended, and shall be h» full force and effect upon adoption."

All interested persons may appear before the Board at the aforesaid time and place and will be given an opportunity to be heard either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Ordinance.
