Amissville Champs

In Softball League

The Tri-County Slow Pitch softball championship was won by the Amissville team in the fifth game of the play-off with Viewtown. Amissville, primed for the game, entered with a 3-1 edge. After one inning of play the score was 2-0 in Amissville’s favor.

Viewtown pulled its team off the field in protest as the second inning began so the umpire awarded the game to Amissville with the commissioner in agreement. Thus the championship was taken by Amissville with four wins and one loss.

The fourth game of the series was won by Amissville 7-5 on the hitting of Tony Layman and some fine defensive plays by Levi Atkins. Amissville scored one run in the top of the first on a single by Pullen and a sacrifice fly by Charlie Burke.
