The Great Fur Put On is here! This is the season of the fabulous fakes...the wild life look-alikes in synthetic fur fabric...as well as the real fresh-from-the-hunt pelts. The fur look-alikes range from the flat to the fluffy furs. Choose from the jungle - jaguar, giraffe, leopard, tiger, cheetah, zebra; from the woods • mink, vicuna, red fox, chinchilla or broadtail; or from the farm - calf, pony or lamb. Use the furs and fake furs both inside and out. Line a coat, trim a jacket, sew a vest, a skirt, let your imagination be as wild as your fabric. Don’t let the conventional use of fur limit you, consider a pantsuit in pony or a vest in vicuna. Use a shaggy fur for a fun fur coat. For a special touch of luxury, line a coat with the fuzziest of the fake furs.
The type of fur you choose will be a guide to the pattern you select. The bulkier, deep-pile furs require a simpler design than the smooth pelt fabrics. Select a style with simple, straight lines-let the lush pile and animal markings make the garment look important.
