Phelps Named President Of Int. Association

Chester F. Phelps, Executive lirector of the Virginia Commission of Game and Inland fisheries, was elected President of he International Association of lame, Fish and Conservation Commissioners at that group’s >0th annual meeting in New York City. The group is composed of lirectors from the other 49 ;tates, plus Canadian provinces mjl a few foreign countries. Phelps has served in various rffices since, he was first elected to the Executive Board inl965. He is the first Virginian to serve is President of the International Association. “Mr. Phelps is an outstanding professional in the field of fish and game management and conservation, and we are proud to have him serving in this important post,” said Game Commission Chairman Dr. Custis L. Coleman.

The association has addressed itself to a number of pressing conservation problems over the years, particularly those that involve the effects of federal conservation programs and policies on the programs of the various states.
