Douglas Bywaters of Flint Hill is seen with the cascade system which has been purchased by the Rappahannock County Fire Association for the use of all county departments. The system cost $510 and is used to refill breathing equipment. It was installed in the Flint Hill fire house. Among other accomplishments of the association is the sponsoring each year of a fire training school with buildings erected to use in actual fire fighting; holding first aid classes and obstetric classes; purchase of a 16 mm movie projector for use in training session by all companies. The fire association was established to develop better techniques and cement public relations, to secure advice of beneficial legislation and render assistance members injured in performance of duties. It was organized in 1966.
