Wilber Anderson
Wilber Anderson of Washington, D C. died September 10, 1971 in Rogers Memorial Hospital there. He was 88, a native of Amissville, Va., the son of the late Norvel P. Anderson and Loulie T. Lewis. He had worked for D C. Transit and the old Capital Transit system for 50 years and had been personnel manager of Capital transit. Mr. Anderson was a Mason and a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Pansy Taylor Anderson; three sisters, Miss Louise Anderson and Mrs. Daisey Caperton, both of Culpeper and Mrs. Laura Irvine of Lynchburg; and one granddaughter.
A funeral service was held Monday at Lee Funeral Home and interment was in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Thomas E. Blades
Thomas E. Blades of Venice, Fla. died September 3, 1971 in a Venice hospital. He was 61, a retired federal government employee.
He was a native of Illinois and until nine years ago had lived in Falls Church, Va. He was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and the Masonic Lodge of Venice and the Scottish Rite of Alexandria, Va.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Fravel Partlow Blades of Venice; three daughters, Lorena DuChaine of Lyons, 111., Paula Yates of Rockledge, Fla., Gwen Hockman of New York City; three brothers, Dr. James E. Blades of Nokomis, Fla., Harry R. Blades of Laurel, Fla. and Benjamin C. Blades of Fairfield, 111.; eleven grandchildren and one greatgrandchild.
Funeral services were held Monday the 6th at St. Mark’s Church with the Rev. Younger conducting the rities. Interment was in Gulf Pines Memorial Park.
