Mr. and Mrs. F. Wendell Latham of Fredericksburg are the parents of a daughter, Christy Ellen, born September 13, 1971 at Mary Washington Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Barron of Viewtown and Mrs. W. R. Bowen of Amissville are grandparents of the infant. The Lathams have another daughter Wendelyn.
Kauffman II will be the site of demonstrations of quilting, spinning and other home crafts.
Rare antiques collected by the home’s present owners, Mr. and Mrs. Cletus B. Lamb, and other area residents will be displayed. Also on the tour will be five historic and interesting churches.
Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church on Va. 670 east of Luray is considered the “mother church” of five Page Lutheran congregations and traces its history to 1733. A pewter communion chalice dated 1727 will be on display along with parish records from the early 19th century written in German.
Other churches featured will be Brick Church on US 211 four miles east of Luray, Grace Lutheran Church at Ida south of Luray, St. George’s Episcopal Church at Pine Grove four miles southeast of Stanley, and Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church at Hamburg west of Luray.
