It has been three years since the Panthers put in an appearance at a tournament. Their eighth place finish in the ten-team district put them in the tournament for the district championship.
Two of the Panther’s victories came in the last five games, with William Monroe and Elkton on the home court.
Junior Bobby Smoot got his moment of glory by sinking the winning basket in the last seconds of the William Monroe game, making the score 57-55.
IN THE Elkton game it was sophomore star Harry Jordan who showed the way with 23 points and 22 rebounds to his credit. Senior Bill Kilby had a last good round with Elkton when he racked a dozen
