THE CASANOVA HUNT has released the race schedule for the Casanova Hunt Point-to-Point. The races will be held at Spring Hill Farm, Casanova, on Saturday, February 26, and post, time is 12:30 p.m. r
The first race will be the Longwood, with two divisions, Senior and Junior. This is a Hunting Pace Race, for ladies and gentlemen at catch weights; about three miles over flagged natural hunting country; course to be announced ten days prior to race. >
Owner-riders must be members of a recognized hunt, and have fairly hunted during the current season. Winner will be the closest time to the time set by the committee; one penalty point for every second over set time, two penalty points for every second under set time. Trophies donated by Dr. and Mrs. E.M. Colvin, Jr. of Longwood Farm, Catlett.
The second race will be the Highbramble. Hurdles; for maiden threeyear-olds and upward. Three-year-olds, 136 pounds; four-year-olds, 145 pounds; older, 152 pounds. About one and one-half miles over hurdles. Trophy donated by Mr. and Mrs. John Alexander of Highbramble Farm.
The third race will be the Spring Hill. An open race; minimum weight 175 pounds. About three miles over fair hunting country. Perpetual trophy donated by Edwin P. Evans of Spring Hill Farm, Casanova.
THE FOURTH RACE, the Melrose Castle, for ladies; minimum weight 150 pounds. Riders to be members of a recognized hunt. Hunting attire. About 2 1/2 miles over /air hunting country. For horses that have been regularly and fairly
