The fifth race is the Casanova Cup. A race for gentlemen, owner-rider. Minimum weight 185 pounds. Hunting attire. About 2 1/2 miles over fair hunting country. A challenge trophy to be won three times by the same owner. For horses that have been regularly and ‘fairly hunted by the owner in the current season. Heavyweight trophy awarded to the first rider to finish weighing a minimum of 200 pounds. Trophies presented by Mr4, and Mrs. Charles B. Gray, Jr. of Calverton.
THE SIXTH RACE is the Rogue’s Road (old English point-to-point hurdle race). Minimum weight 155 pounds. One and one-half miles over hurdles. Riders acceptable to the committee. Racing colors acceptable. Trophy donated by Witold Kuncewicz. To be won three times by the same owner and the same horse.
The final race of the day will be the Acorn Farm, for gentlemen. Minimum weight 160 pounds. Riders to be members of a recognized hunt. One and one quarter miles on the turf. Horses having started on the flat in 1971 must have v been owned by the present owned prior to January 1, 1972. (Hunt meetings not included). Riders acceptable to the committee. Perpetual trophy in memory of Capt. Howard C. Ross. All entries must be sent to John Alexander, racing secretary, Casanova, not later than Saturday, February 19.
