THE SAME HANDS which rocked the cradles have ruled the Town of Washington for the past 22 years, and next week the era of complete “petticoat rule” in the quaint, colonial village will cease.
Two men will hold offices the coming year, the first time since the writein vote for the ladies which took place in 1950. As the new fiscal year begins in July, a male mayor and one
male council number will join the remaining ladies to fill out the slate of seven elected in May.
