Fireworks at Avon Hall
THE INDEPENDENCE DAY program and fireworks display at Avon Hall, home of Mr. and Mrs. William Carrigan in Washington, will begin at 7 o’clock Tuesday, July 4.
Martial music will initiate the program and a speaker will be featured. A demonstration by horses and hounds will follow.
A demonstration by a Fort Belvoir Air Rescue Unit is planned if the group is not otherwise tied up in flood rescue operations.
The fireworks display will take place at the edge of Avon Lake and will be under the supervision of a fire company official. During the evening the grounds will be aglow with luminaries around the lake and on the hillsides.
The Carrigans urge the public to remain on the hill near the courthouse and if they wish families are invited to picnic there. Parking will be available on Gay Street as well as Route 211.
