WHEREAS: July 4th is America’s National Day, commemorating the birth of this Nation, and

WHEREAS: The father of our country, George Washington, was responsible for outlining the boundaries of our beautiful little village, and

WHEREAS: Community-minded citizens of Rappahannock County, being mindful of the place in history our village occupies, have banded together to stage an old-fashioned Fourth of July in the County seat, and

WHEREAS: The proceeds of their efforts will go to the betterment of the Rappahannock County Library,

NOW THEREFORE, I, Andrew Kozik, Mayor of Washington, do hereby proclaim the Fourth of July as “Little Washington” Day in the village and do hereby adjure all its citizens to support, in whatever measure possible, our old-fashioned Fourth of July.
