Earlier, the turnpike authority announced plans to retain existing speed limits on the entire distance of its facility.
The existing maximum limits will be retained on five sections of the interstate system in the Hampton Roads area. These include the 8.4 miles of I64 between Newgate Road and the Curlew Drive overpass in Virginia Beach;
