One of the projects undertaken by the lady officials was the restoration of the monument on the courthouse lawn which stands near the treasurer’s office. The “little ladies” went right to work and their accomplishments over the years includes the salvaging of the town water system which had gone into receivership. In addition to paying off the debts, the system has been improved and just last year the reservoir was drained, sanded and cleaned.
