Class C fireworks, the little ones, cause the largest number of accidents, accounting for 49 percent of the injuries to the eyes and 43 percent of the burn injuries according to a recent survey by the National Society for the Prevention of Blindness, Inc. Identified as Class C are small firecrackers (1 1/2 inches long or smaller), sparklers, fountains, roman candles, small rockets and similar articles. Class C fireworks are legal in Virginia except where outlawed by municipal ordinance.
