HOG PRICES were very uneven around the Southeast with direct hogs 50 to 75 cents lower and auction markets $1 to $2 lower. At terminal market prices on barrows and gilts closed strong to $1 higher, instances $1.50 higher.
In the wholesale carlot pork trade most cuts sold sharlpy lower. Supplies around the southeastern region were curtailed somewhat. In the predominant Georgia-Florida - Alabama auction area, marketings were the smallest since mid-Octoberl968 excluding holiday weeks.
