POGO SAYS: “We has met the enemy and they is us.” Is man really his own natural enemy? There are some that will tell you that man will eventually destroy himself and his environment unless he exercises some control. I read that we are already in such a mess that the only God’s cleansing fire can save us.
David said: “Look, I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” There is a group that will dispute that assertion, David have been a man. That is something else that is getting out-of-hand: just imagine the weaker sex rebelling against their Lords and masters. Ha! Weaker sex!
Two “woo-persons” gave lectures the other day on poisonous plants. It seems that in the wilting process of wild cherry leaves, just at one certain point, two leaves will kill a horse. That is if they are ingested. Is that a wives tale or has it been proven by some chemical evaluation?
And speaking of chemistry, there seems to be a certain quality of it in humans. Two people meet and one, or both, have the catalyst that creates a condition called Love. Most chemists wear protective aprons, I don’t think there is one that will protect the heart from this condition.
So, things being as they are, let’s make the most of what we have left. The war of the sexes is a lot of garbage, deep down inside we know that we need each other. I know that the human chemistry robs of reason at times, but we need something to make us notice each other, to recognize mutual needs. Let us head the Christ’s injunction: ‘Love one another’ and maybe, just maybe, we might overcome. □
