CERTIFICATES may be issued to civilian and military personnel who meet the following requirements:
An applicant must be at least 20 years of age. Under circumstances considered justifiable by local authorities, the age limit may be lowered; however, no applicant may take the test prior to the time that he would have graduated from high school had he remained in school and made normal progress.
A person under 20 years of age must have earned at least eight units of high school credit, excluding health and physical education, to be eligible to take the GED tests.
