TWO single vehicle traffic crashes have been reported with only minor personal injury resulting. Both occurred August 24.
On Route 611, two miles west of Amissville, James Samuel Embrey of Rector - town lost control of his vehicle, a 73 Ford, on a curve and struck a tree.
He sustained a cut chin, according to Trooper G.F. Gregory, who investigated. Embrey was cited for reckless driving.
Otis Wilford Jordan Jr. of Amissville, operating a 68 Buick, owned by Alma F. Jordan, lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree. This crash occurred on Route 626 near Washington. He was also charged with reckless driving by Trooper Gregory.
Hayward Wharton of Flint Hill, driving the 1973 Ford which his wife had won at Sperryville this year, was struck by a Texas motorist August 25 on Route 211 at the intersection of Route 622 west of Washington.
