PIEDMONT Vocational School has officially changed its name to Piedmont Technical Education Center. The Regional Control Board thought that this name was more appropriate due to the various missions the Center has.
In addition to training high school students, the Center also has the responsibility for adult education, training for business and industry, and conducting various educational testing functions.
Piedmont is starting its sixth year of operation, and the growth and expansion has been rapid. During the daytime high school program there has been an expansion from the first year of 180 students to an anticipated enrollment of 650 for the 1973-74 school year.
The Center has been operated and supported by the Counties of^ Orange, Culpeper, and Madison. This year the County of Rappahannock will have more active participation by physically transporting students from Rappahannock High School.
