All work must be original (no copies of photos or paintings already published) and all work must have been done during 1972-73.
All adult work must be for sale with 25 per cent going to The Waterford Foundation. The entry fee per picture, limited to two, is $1. Children pay nothing. Only one picture will be accepted if it is over 36” x 46”.
Local banks and organizations have been generous in donating cash awards to blue ribbon winners anticipating the high quality of the work to be shown.
THE BEST of Show Award given in memory of Arshille Gorky will again be $25 given by the Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Waterford. Gorky frequently visited Crooked Run Farm near Hamilton, painting during his stay. He continued his Loudoun County visits until his death in 1948. Mrs. Thomas Taylor of Lincoln has an original Gorky given to her by the artist.
