Phoebe Green spent Tuesday in Mercersburg, Pa. visiting Capt. and Mrs. Glenn Lathrop. Wednesday Mrs. William Davis was an over night guest of Miss Green as she was enroute from Ohio to her home in Williamsburg. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Compton were Mrs. Sadie Withers and Mrs. Mabel Amiss of Oxon Hill, Md. The Rev. and Mrs. J.S. Stirman Jr. and children Becky and Ray returned last Wednesday from a two week vacation which took them to Louisville, Ky. where they were guests of his parents Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Stirman. They spent some time in Garner and Durham, N.C. where they visited Mr. and Mrs. G.E. Fortune and the Rev. and Mrs. Malcolm Cadd, respectively.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Button of Jeffersontonwere afternoon visitors Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Latham.
The WSCS of Amiss - ville United Methodist Church will hold a picnic next Wednesday, September 5 at 6 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Ruth Corbitt. Those attending should bring a covered dish.
