News founder dies
BRUCE STRINGFELLOW BOWIE, owner of Bowie Printing Company" in Culpeper, died Tuesday, April 23, 1974. He was the founder of the Rappahannock News in 1949. A graveside funeral service was held this morning (Thursday) at 11 a.m. in the Culpeper Masonic Cemetery conducted by the Rev. John S. Farrar. A Masonic service was held Wednesday night at 8 p.m. at the Geest Funeral Home Chapel.
