• A small recreational subdivision with tenor less units is built. • The land use restrictions on. mobile homes are removed. • No new subdivisions are approved. • A small manufacturing plant is started. • A large manufacturing plant is started. • The acreage in orchards is increased 50 per cent.
To each of these “events,” reactions can be graded “Better,” “No change,” or “Worse,” on the basis of the county as a place to live, or as a place to work.
RAPPAHANNOCK was selected for the survey because it combines a number of characteristics which the Department wants to better understand: It is still largely rural and agricultural and outside a metropolitan area, while at the same time it is “impacted” by a large metropolitan area.
