A FEW MORNINGS AGO, while shaving, I cut a nick in my chin. I glanced at my chin to see how bad a cut I had inflicted and noticed that I had my eyebrows in a questioning attitude that reminded me of my mother when she wanted some answers. I recall that it was good to have the right answer at such a time. It also brought to mind this epic pbem a girl wrote about me.

I love you for your gentle air ■

Once quaintly known as debonair,

For lips that smile while they seek,

Eyebrows in a little peak,

Crisp hair, electric black,

Small hips, broad back;

These things, (jesting) it appears

Laments the void between your ears.

She was a great kid; a poet (as you can see), a musician. Played the piano and guitar, could sing beautifully, Had a wonderful family. She was also in love with another guy, whom she married. I am grateful for hands that have touched my life gently.

I WENT ON A TRIP recently to. the Nation’s Capital with a group of about 30 ladies. The ladies were nice, the flowers were beautiful, the buildings were interesting, but part of the city is falling into decay. That was not good. One lady told me that it was good to have one gentleman along. I told her that I assumed that the driver was a gentleman, so where did that put me? She was kind enough to say that she meant in our group. Thank you ladies, the trip WAS nice.
