ELEVEN GOBBLERS have been checked so far in Rappahannock County during the present season. One turkey has been checked at Williams Grocery at Chester Gap; two at Amissville and four each at Baldwin’s Grocery, Washington Cash Store and Bradford’s Store, Flint Hill. Gavor Foster, Doug Calhoun, and Sherman Atkins with two checked their birds at Bradfords; Andy Pennington, Barry Adkins, and James Adkins, all of Washington, and Leahman Holt of McLean have checked turkeys at Baldwin’s. Luther Campbell of Washington checked a gobbler taken in Culpeper County and W. F. Simmons of Amissville took a turkey in Fauquier County. Both of these checked at Jenkin’s Exxon, Amissville. The current season runs through May 11, 1974. Seed for planting annual food patches is now available. Contact either the Extension office at Washington or Irvin Kenyon, Game Warden, Boston, Va., 825-3653. We must limit the amount given to each person to two or three bags initially. If after supplying all the requests there is still seed available we will then get additional seed to those who want more than they first received. This should be planted in May.D
