Two of Hutchinson’s children, Dianne, 12, and Paul, 4, were *released from the hospital in Leesburg on Tuesday, after treatment for minor burns and smoke inhalation. Fifteen year old Robert Hutchinson was visiting his grandparents in Vermont during the weekend and escaped the tragedy.
The Hutchinson family was spending the night in Lincoln with Mr. and Mrs. James 0. Powell. Their daughter, Annette Powell, also died in the fire, which apparantly resulted from pouring gasoline in an oil stove. Mrs. Powell and several of her children were also critically injured.
The Hutchinsons moved to Virginia in 1972 when George Hutchinson became employed with the Metro construction in Washington, D.C. Powell also worked there. The Hutchinsons lived near Amissville prior to moving to Harris Hollow near Washington.
