WESTERN TRIP
Mrs. Robert Rodgers and Mrs. Frank Spalding of Flint Hill, joined by Mrs. J.M. Humphries of Fayetteville, N.C., made a 25-day trip, following the southern route to Texas. They returned to their homes Friday.
In Austin, Texas they visited Mr. and Mrs. Dale Williams, and Mr. and Mrs. Lad Nickelson in Franklin. Stopping in Wichita Falls they were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Bentley and in Shreveport, La. they visited Mr. and Mrs. Riley K. Porter.
They toured museums, the Alamo, old missions, San Antonio and then waded in the muddy Mississippi at Vicksburg where the river had overflowed its banks into the city. They toured Natchez, the Cajun and bayou country. In Atlanta, Ga. they visited the underground city, toured historic sites in North Carolina, Southern Pines and Pinehurst resorts and were the guests of Capt. and Mrs. Humphries five days before returning to their respective homes.
